New Beginnings
As we move into the fourth quarter of 2017 I have begun to reflect on my career – one that started 30 years ago in 1987. Over these past three decades, I’ve done a lot of different things. I also had a lot of mentors along the way. People both young and old from all walks of life who each taught me something that has made me the person I am today.
As we move toward 2018 I have decided to take something that I have been doing most of my career and make a career of it. Consulting often brings with it a negative connotation. Many consultants talk about breaking that perception and being different and, like those that have come before me, I too seek to be different. I have thick skin and I’ve been around the block a time or two and as such I love constructive feedback. If you are interested in learning more about how I can help you and/or your business, please reach out to me. If there’s nothing you need right now, please, still reach out to me. You took the time to visit my site and to reach this post – that, in and of itself tells me that if I don’t already know you I sure would like to.
While young, my practice focuses on three core services:
Product Development, Marketing and Distribution
After spending one-half of my career ideating, planning, building, launching and retiring software and service solutions the process is now second nature. Whether you have an idea that you want to vet or a product that’s already in market and underperforming, I can help you understand where you are and what the next best steps are. I’ve been a member and served as an executive on the international board of directors for the Product Development and Management Association for nearly 15 years. As a certified New Product Development Professional I have both the practical experience and the academic credentials to help you think differently about your current product(s).
Business Development
Most if not all of my biz-dev friends say the same thing, “New sales cure all manner of problems.” Sometimes what you need is to meet the right people to get your message out. Other times you might need strategic partners to help you drive the growth you need. In some cases just learning more about where you are competitively can help you refine your value proposition or even pivot to a place that may be better suited for your operation. Regardless of your situation, I can assist in each of these areas. My national network of startups, mature businesses and professionals enables me to connect you with the right people quickly and efficiently.
Operations, Administration and Business Process Management
Are you building a new service team or trying to re-invent/re-energize an existing one? As a member of the Association of Business Process Management Professionals, a Certified Business Process Associate and a veteran of countless team build-outs and turn-arounds, I can assist with analysis, recommendations and execution. There’s no silver bullet when it comes to process improvement and/or automation. It’s about rolling up your sleeves, putting in the time to understand the operation and building both the right process and the right team to execute it.
Conclusion
I believe that working together is always better than working separately. Partnerships are important to me and many of the people I have worked with in the past remain close contacts today. Business is about making money but for me, it’s also about establishing and nurturing long-standing relationships. I measure the value of the people I work with not by how perfect they are because mistakes happen, problems arise. It’s not how you avoid those things because they’re unavoidable. It’s how you deal with adversity that matters to me. When the bullets start flying will you stay in the foxhole with me and fight through the challenge or will you turn tail and run away to safety? I like to think that I am one that will be in that foxhole beside you so if you’re looking for someone to help you during the good times and stick with you during the bad, please think of me.
